What is a Vaginal Hysterectomy?

A Hysterectomy Vaginal is when the vagina is stretched and kept open by special instruments. There are no external incisions made. There is however an internal incision at the top of the vagina around the cervix.
The uterus and cervix are then cut from their supporting ligaments and surrounding tissue, and then the connecting blood vessels are tied off.
The uterus and cervix are then removed through the vagina, which is then closed to prevent infection and to keep the intestines from dropping downward.
Looking at Hysterectomy Vaginal Options…
When a doctor and patient decide to look at hysterectomy options, it is likely a vaginal hysterectomy will be the choice for the person considering a hysterectomy if they are given a choice. There are several reasons a patient would rather have the vaginal hysterectomy instead of the abdominal hysterectomy. Following are the top three reasons:
- The vaginal hysterectomy is easier to recover from post-surgery. Abdominal hysterectomies can be more difficult even though the incision is small compared to what one might expect. The recovery is similar to the c-section recovery though and this is one of the reasons the vaginal hysterectomy is the preferred choice in women who have the hysterectomies. Abdominal hysterectomies can be very painful to overcome in the first couple of days following the surgery.
- Even though the procedure might seem more traumatic for women during surgery, with this procedure, going home within 12 hours of the surgery is a viable and probable occurrence.
- The scars are unnoticed.
A vaginal hysterectomy seems less invasive to the girls who like the bikini wear in the summer time. If you are concerned with scarring, then a hysterectomy performed abdominally will likely scare you too death because you will have a scar and even when the healing process begins, it still will be noticed to a certain extent. Obviously, a hysterectomy procedure will appeal more to the younger women who have to have the hysterectomy performed.
If a woman requires a more extensive hysterectomy, then the total hysterectomy will be her only option. However, a vaginal hysterectomy is something women should discuss with their doctor before taking anything else into consideration. It can be easier to recover from and the pain following the surgery is nothing like what you will experience from an abdominal surgery.

Thanks for this medical information. I love this blog. This will be more useful for medical field workers.
